Songs that sing the words I cannot find

***Please follow my blog***

I'd also be interested in any comments and opinions anyone may have.

So I have not written anything in quite some time because I just don't have any leftover of myself when I do get a spare minute (ha ha like that ever happens). On the rare occasions when I do have some "free time", I'd rather just stare blankly at anything and not have to think at all so... herein lies my dilemma.

However, I have been listening to music a lot lately - which I feel I should always do more of, as it always makes me feel better. It's hard to find the time to even listen to music because my work requires me to be on the phone talking all day. And I am still working from home so listening to music in the car is pretty much not an option (like I am not always on the phone even then though, right?).

There have been several songs that are really speaking to me right now. They resonate with my life each in their own way. Please bear in mind I am a Gen-X individual and will declare with my dying breath that the 1990s were the best generation for music. There was more emotion and profound truth in lyrics from that time period in music that has cannot be matched to date. In my humble opinion anyhow. (although, as my brother pointed out to me, several of the songs below are not from the '90's - but that is still the best time period for music)

Also - a line at the beginning of an otherwise unremarkable song that I feel has more truth in its words than anything else I can think of. The Song is Closer to Fine - by the Indigo Girls - but the lyrics I am referring to are...

"Darkness has a hunger that is insatiable, and Lightness has a call that is hard to hear"

How true is that? It is so easy to succumb to those things in your life, that numb, hide, dull or erase your discontent and pain than it is to rise above it, get your head in the game, and get done what needs to get done. And there is NEVER anything or anyone insisting you listen to your inner goodness. Nothing in your face pointing the way to a righteous purpose. Temptation never works in your favor, unfortunately. It's always easier to do the wrong thing. And that is pretty shitty.
